The game was received favorably, and there's a sequel coming out soon as a prequel to both the original game and this, known as Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord. The game is a standalone expansion to Mount and Blade, adding a new kingdom known as the Sarranid Sultanate (a desert based Kingdom) to join the first game's kingdoms (The Nords, the Rhodoks, the Vaegirs, the Swadians, and the Khergit Khanate, and also added multiplayer along with other general improvements. the upkeep requires one week or lrelative peace out of three, where I'm free to raise cash through extortion, valuable quests, and bandit hunting.Mount and Blade: Warband is a medieval roleplaying simulation/sandbox game produced by TaleWorlds Entertainment, released on March 30th, 2010. This is accomplished with a total bodycount of 200 or so, about half cavalry. It's hard to beat the opponents without a mobile reserve. Waiting in sieges also gives them training, replacing any losses to truly valuable troops.Įven when sieging, I always bring a cavalry bodyguard, of about 20 men. Defend my castle (if they're elite enough) or I can evade most armies and fight them one at a time if I need to. My I smash you army: this is my Mamelukes, any other heavies I can get, and Khergit Veterans. This party should not be more than 40 men, otherwise the Bandits stop coming to YOU and you lose valuable bandit-capturing time.Ģ. I recruit them from the village, after a money-making run of a few days, I have lancers. Me, my companions, mercenary horse (picked up and replaced anywhere), and Khergits. Infantry seems only average but as an all round faction they seem pretty good. If your looking for the most complete all round faction, I'd have to say its Saranid Sultinae from what I've seen, their archers are possibly on a par with the Veigirs, their cavalry are great. I rarely see the need to roll with an army of more than 100. If Im assembling a force for castle city seige I'd take something like this:įor open fighting against large enemy armies: Swadian Knights and Mamlukes are the cav kings. Veigir cav hits hard but isnt durable enough, and again unarmoured mounts. Though lancers are decent cav, their mounts are too easily killed. Unfortunately, veteran horse archers arent great because the AI isnt good enough to use them intelligently. I only use heavy Cav, in an ideal world where the AI would be better, I'd probably rate Khergit horse archers and lancers. For pure ranged ability though I think u have to go along way to beat the Veigir Marksman. Ranged troops, I really like Rhodok Sharpshooters, not only are they good at ranged damage but they do themselves justice in melee too. I really like Rhodok Sergeants too, I just wish they all used shields. Nord trained footmen are my fave garrison infantry. As an earlier poster said, Hurscalls are a real killing machine during sieges. There are certian troops I like but army compositions are situational.
